CDAR is Gearing Up For Another Great Year!

Welcome back Ryerson students!
The start of a new school year is always an exciting time. Every year there are new opportunities to make connections on campus and to get involved with various groups and initiatives.  Our mission here at the Canadian Diabetes Association at Ryerson is to connect with the Ryerson community in order to raise awareness about diabetes and to promote sustainable ways to lead a healthy lifestyle.  Our first opportunity to connect with students was at last week’s Campus Services and Involvement Fair. It was a great opportunity to spread the word about CDAR and our work on campus!  Check out some of the photos below showing our CDAR booth setup and Exec Team members Jeroselle and Natalie manning the booth!
We will be connecting with the Ryerson community again on September 14th at the Nutrition and Food/Tri-Mentoring Program Social.  If you’re in the area, please do stop by to say hello and find out what CDAR’s all about!  Also, on November 14th, we’ll be marking World Diabetes Day with a great event in collaboration with the School of Nutrition, Ryerson Aboriginal Student Services (R.A.S.S.) and the Indigenous Students’ Association (I.S.A.).  More details to follow!
We are thinking of ways to get the Ryerson community connected to not only to prevent diabetes, but to lead healthier lives. We are really excited because we have some great ideas for this school year.  Look out for speaker events where we’ll bring in health professionals who are on the “front lines” in diabetes-related work, fun workout sessions to get the Ryerson community moving, healthy cooking demos, lots of fun contests and much more!
We here on the Executive Team of the CDAR hope that you will connect with us throughout the year via our various social media accounts and we look forward to seeing you at our future events!
